Data deletion
Last updated: 29 July 2026
You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you at any time. You do not need a reason, and it does not cost anything.
To make a request, contact us and say you want your data deleted.
Email info@teloswebsite.co.za · WhatsApp or call +27 74 603 7083
Tell us the name, email address or phone number you used, so we can find the right records. We will confirm within 5 working days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What we can delete
Depending on what you have used, this may include:
- enquiries you sent through the contact form or the quote form;
- your name, email address and phone number from our records;
- email and WhatsApp correspondence with us;
- your details in our analytics tools, where they can be identified.
What we may have to keep
Some records we are not allowed to delete straight away. If you have been a paying client, South African tax law requires us to keep invoices and related financial records for five years after the last transaction. We will delete everything else and keep those records restricted until the period expires.
We may also keep the minimum needed to defend a legal claim, or to honour a request not to be contacted again.
If Telos hosts your website
Deleting your personal information is not the same as closing your hosting account. If you want a hosted site taken down as well, say so in your request and we will confirm what happens to the site, its content and its backups first — we would rather double-check than delete something you needed.
Where we host a site for you, any personal information belonging to your customers is held on your behalf. Requests from your customers should come to you, and we will act on your instruction.
Connected accounts and apps
If you have connected a social or third-party account to a Telos application, you can revoke that access yourself at any time, which stops any further data being shared with us:
- Instagram: Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites → find the app → Remove.
- Facebook: Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites → find the app → Remove.
Revoking access stops future sharing but does not delete what was already collected. To have that deleted too, send us a request using the details above.
Your other rights
Deletion is one of several rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act. You can also ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or object to how we use it. Our privacy policy explains all of them, and how to complain to the Information Regulator if you are not happy with our response.
